even if you take the staggeringly naive position that obscene wealth is somehow not related to power, the royal family regularly subvert parliament and play silly buggers with our legislature. she’s not some fucking doddering innocent “figurehead” with no power, none of them are, stop patronising people because they get old you utter freaks. charles isn’t clean, william isn’t, harry isn’t, all the others whose names i don’t know aren’t.

they’re still soaking up wealth from the people (from all sorts of income streams) whilst being one of the richest families on the planet. They are scum, and this creepy infantilization of queenie that’s bound up in all sorts of incredibly racist nostalgia for ‘rule britannia’ is honestly sickening, and is literally straight out of the UKIP & Tory “cultural jingoism based on nostalgia for a time that never actually existed” handbook. The empire was reprehensible and the vestigial stumps of it should bring nothing more than shame and a conviction to work on reparations. Queenie and co is a fucking stump.
